just a note . You CAN play ps2 and ps1 games on this! Simply download the system data from playstation network. Its free and all you have to do is create a partition on the hard drive for saved game info. Then download Firedog linux for ps3 and use it as an extra computer when needed.Enjoy!!

First off, This is my second PS3. I'm getting one for my son so we can play online together. I got my first one the day they went on sale. THE XBOX360 is not even in the same class. OK, it has more games but, it's been out longer. The 360 is old technology in a new case. Thats the only reason it has more games at the moment and it has major problems. You run a fifty fifty chance the ''ring of death''(error light for 360) will come on at some point. The ps3 on the other hand is new tech. Blue ray is not only the best quality picture. They also hold lots more data. This means better graphics, longer games and more advanced games in the future. Plus 360 is only 720 output bumped up to 1080. PS3 is a true 1080 platform. If you want to play old games buy a 360. If you know what you're talking about. There is no way you can go wrong with the ps3. Oh and its a internet surfable computer too. SWEAT! Plus built in WIFI (Not 360) and downloadable FREE demos and online play. Come on. Google it...

I have both PS3 and XBox 360, The specs give the edge to the PS3 but there is ton more games for the 360. Having the Blu ray in the ps3 is nice for those movies that need to been seen in High Def. The on-line content/interactive play on the 360 is 20x that of the PS3, for free its works. I have no issues with either machine.

This is the best, most realistic, system to ever hit the earth. The graphics are unbeatable, especially when you have the hdtv setup, because the games are bluray discs it looks even better than regular hd. Not to mention the FREE use of playstation network, unlike the xbox, which wants like $50 a yr to play online. The playstation is better than the xbox360, and probanly the best part is that i dont have to worry about all these things burning up my system. The thing with backwards compatibility is not really a big deal, because i bought it to play new ps3 games, not old ps2. Not to mention how cool it looks. It is definetly worth the money, trust me once you get on you will not want to get off.
